Foremost among the stars and legends of Russian silent cinema were Vera Kholodnaya and Ivan Mozzhukhin. Both Kholodnaya and Mozzhukhin did much of their best work with Bauer, whose films are the precious part of the survived legacy of Russian pre-revolution cinema. Russian silent films developed its own school with Eugeniy Bauer to be its major director. Having inherited many of the achievements of the pre-revolutionary cinema, Soviet cinema became the means of spreading new ideology in the society. It brought into the spotlight new stars like Lubov Orlova, Galina Kravchenko, Sofia Magarill
